Are we big enough to accept our responsibility? DEDICQATIGN To Anna E. Climenhaga, whose influence will long live in the hearts of each student, we Dedicate our Clarion. Her high ideals, noble Christian character, and her steadfast faith in the highest and best in man, together show the heights and depths of a great spiritual development. She has faithfully served our youth in its great desire for the mastery of the Classical languages. U nselfishly she has given her time in the interest of M. B. C. and her youth. She has instilled within our hearts a deep appreciation for all that is noble, pure, and good. A good man out of the good treasures of the heart bringeth forth good things. Matt. 12:35. I I I 1 I I CONTENTS YOUTH LEADERS Faculty YOUTH IN STUDIES Classes YOUTH IN ACTIVITIES Orgcmizofions YOUTH IN SERVICE C. P. S. Camps AIumni Degrees .ZT- YGUTH LEADERS ' Za ham 6-Baia, .Sa ge YZ Faith has been ridiculed and discounted by those who live chiefly in that realm of life made accessible through their senses. But those who are not content to live in the sphere of the material continue to experience miracles being wrought by faith. Progress stops, life stagnates and pessimism reigns where faith is thwarted. Faith has but little value in itself. Its effectiveness is determined by the object upon which it centers. Faith in God, faith in Christ, faith in the Bible, faith in the Church, faith in ourselves, and faith in Society will yield results commensurate with the value of the object in which our confidence centers. Faith is the channel that con- nects. lt unites the point of need and the base of supply. At Messiah Bible College we naturally and freely maintain a positive faith in Cod, our Creator and Father, and in Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Lord. This faith actual and living, lifts out of the thralldom of sin and unites life with God in liberty and freedom. We recognize the Bible as the infallible Word of God, the ultimate authority of truth and right. We therefore know whence we came, whither we are going and how to hnd the way. At M. B. C. we recognize the church of Jesus Christ as God's medium of ministra- tion in the world. This church, persecuted, rnaligned, and ridiculed, continues her life- saving mission and the HGates of hell shall not prevail against her. The Brethren in Christ are a small part of that great body with a message and mission sorely needed in this twentieth century. Not only do we believe these eternal verities, but at lVl. B. C. we have faith in young people. This is a dilhcult day for youth. They have reasons for being perplexed and distraught. They face a dilhcnlt present and an uncertain future. We are sympa- thetic and believe in them because of what they want to become. Among present day Christian young people you will find as sincere and conscientious Christians as ever lived. We believe in them. lVl. B. C. is yet young in her ministry of service. We have faith for her future because she is linked with Cod. Her graduates shall continue to go out and bless mankind. They must go out and Hfall into the ground and dief' Thus they shall fol- low Him who came '6Not to be ministered unto but to minister and give his life a ransom for many. M. B. C. will meet the needs of tomorrow-stronger, better. We do not desire a mushroom growth, but a continuation of the stable progress as evidenced through the years of her history. An accredited College-spiritual, separated unto Christ, serving and sending forth servants-is the vision ahead. According to your faith, so be it. ' 7 -C. N. Hostetter, fr. Qwwlby C. N. The Winter Term is given lor those who wish to take a short term of Bible Study. Many Christian workers and Sunday School teachers have taken this course for spirit- ual inspiration and to better equip themselves for the duties given them by their own church. The winter term this year also served on Missionary circle programs to jails, missions, and small outposts. This gave them a chance to practice what they had learned. It convenes bi-weekly and is attended by the entire student body. Programs of variety held at these meetings have succeeded in broadening our missionary vision. Qwywl 7mm Gospel Team is an active group of young people who conduct programs at jails, missions, and country churches. Their sole purpose is to win souls for Christ. Who of us had the imagination five years ago to think of our being in such a camp as these today? Surely very fewl lt causes us to realize that we are living in a world of changes-of environment, systems of art and entertainment, of religion, from paths of peace to ways of war. All these changes call for choices and decisions. Decisions must be made each day. In making them we must have some definite principles and standards to follow if we are to choose wisely. It is those things in life which introduce us to these stanclarcls and principles that we appreciate most of all. Our homes, our Church, and our Alma Mater to a very large extent performed this duty. We have chosen Civilian Public Service because we believe that war and all it involves is wrong. We have faith in the elhciency of the Christian way of love and in its ability to be practiced in any circumstance. Our opportunity is all-inclusive, our task enormous. We must wage such a program as to prove to the world the validity and truth of our belief. Were we to undertake this in our own strength, discouragement and failure would be inevitable. But we have on our side One who has promised His presence and guid- ance, His love and care. With Him as our Guide and Counselor we SHALL succeed! For HI can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Phil. 4:13. -Jesse L.
