HCJMECOMING KP MR. 6 MISS SKEETER SAVAS TREVINO Savas was an outstanding football and baseball player. ln baseball he lettered three years and he earned an All-District Se- cond Team as a pitcher and right fielder. Savas was voted as class favorite his freshman year and Mr. Skeeter his senior year. Savas is also involved in FCA and Young Life and was selected to be in the Mesquite Elite Calendar. PENNY NICHOLS MHS was very proud to have such an extra-achiever as Penny Nichols. Penny was a Freshman, Junior Varsity, and Varsity Cheerleader. She was both freshman and sophomore class presi- dent, and class favorite her sophomore and junior years. Penny was on the Student Council for four years, in the National Honor Society and the Science Club. She was one of the 1985 Mesquite's Elite favorites. Penny was chosen as a Who's Who Among American High School Students and America's Outstanding Names and Faces. She was a first place finalist in the Miss Teenage America Pageant and received an All American Scholar- ship Award. FINALISTS RICKY coPLiN WSSY DOWDY GREG GILMORE PENNY NICHOLS KIM TIGERT HOMECOMING QUEEN KIM MANESS Kim's outgoing personality was apparent through all of her extra-curricular activities. Kim supported the Skeeters as a Junior Varsity and Varsity cheerleader and as a member of the Maroon Brigade. Kim was involved in Student Council, National Honor Society, Young Life and she served as FHA class secretary. Kim was voted as a Mesquite Elite favorite and Homecoming Queen. No matter if our years at Mesquite High are good, bad or average, we will always be able to laugh about those times that we were just being ourselves. STUDENT LIFE

SOMETHING FOOTBALL SWEETHEART CONNIE POUNDERS Connie was selected to be the 1985-86 Football Sweetheart. Connie worked closely with the football team as an Athletic Trainer. During her years at MHS Connie was also involved in the Spanish Club and Young Life. FINALIST LISA BYRD TO REMEMBER i K.. BAND SWEETHEART G BEAU KELLEY cox Kelley was selected as the 1985-86 Band Sweetheart. Kelley has been in the Honors and Symphonic Bands. Kelley has won first and second division awards in the Solo and Ensemble con- test. Kelley also participated in Marketing Distributive WES CHICK While maintaining above average grades, Wes has been very active throughout high school. Wes has been a Student Council representative for four years and has served as Parlimentarian and Treasurer on the council. Wes has participated in Varsity Basketball, math team, Young Life and has been in the Honor Society. Wes has served as President of the French Club, and President of the Mighty Maroon Band.
