Senior, Alton Chaney won the Golden Gloves many times. ln 1982-83 he won the Golden Gloves. Also, in the same year he was the State Golden Gloves Semi- Finalist, the National New Mexico Runner-up, the state amatuer boxing federation runnervup and he ranked 10th in the Nation. His record was, in 1983, 179 wins and only 20 losses. ln 1984 he was the Golden Gloves Champion and state G.G. SemiAFinalistg where he won 3rd place! Alton would like to go to Ll.T. Austin, but will probably settle at a Junior college. lt is hard to get a scholarship in boxing, because only armed forces have boxing teams. Alton likes to go fishing but doesn't have much time due to training. He plans to continue boxing until he becomes a professional. is ffif Seniors 13 -
