Z for Zim Mrs. Zim , as she is affectionately known by students and teachers alike, is Mesquite High School's number one booster. An avid sports fan-she yells both for the Skeeters and for the Baylor Bears-a dedicated teacher, and always ready with an encouraging word, Mrs. Zim is truly an asset to MHS. Her list of credits is a long one. She received her Masters Degree in Education from East Texas State University and has taught in the Mesquite School System for twelve years. 7'3- i . 53 1 X -1 vsifiigl . H, . yyyg ..,a... Mrs. Zimmerman's first teaching position in Mesquite was at Agnew junior High, there, she taught American history. At MHS, she teaches business law, salesmanship, busi- ness math, and typing. For many years, Mrs. Zim served as a Senior class sponsor. And she was the Mesquite-O advisor for ten years. In view of her many contributions to Mes- quite High School and to the community it- self, we proudly dedicate the 1967 Mesquite- O to Mrs. Carolyn Zimmerman. 3 .Si .fi Jer, l -M

' Mark Medlyn Mr. john Shedd Although Mark had lived only sixteen years when he was shot and killed in january, he had made a place for himself with his friends and at school that will be remembered. He was a member of the National Honor Society, played halfback for the football team and was a winner of a prize last year at the Regional Science Fair. Mr. Shedd spent many hours working with students in the distributive education program. He was energetic and friendly and went out of his way to be helpful to the students of MHS. He had been a teacher at Mesquite High School for two years when he was killed in an automobile accident on May 6.
