And just as the visible school has grown, so too has the spirit and loyalty of the student body. u A school building is constructed of steel, brick, and cement-strong and permanent. And yet, it is much more than just a building. It is students, teachers, and administrators all working together to achieve a common goal. That goal is to make Mesquite High School and its stu- dents the very best. cg H , ,..-.g.g1g.g. iii,-54 fa a 0 I 1 . .,,, -. . . . . .. it :,, t , ,i,,., . . ,.,. , K 1' N, K , T esea s t i ! i E In the next few pages, we have collected several views of our cam- pus. School spirit is certainly a part of pa- triotism and a part that is most familiar to high school students. School spirit gives a stu- dent body unity. With this unity almost any worthwhile endeavor can be accomplished. Through this yearbook, we have attempted to retain a history of this past school year. Of course, it is impossible to recapture each student's special moments. However, we have tried to present here the most important events--the time and effort spent in learning the fun of sports and activities, and all the little things that make MHS the great school that it is. We have enjoyed our work, and we hope that in the years to come, the 1967 MESQUITE-O will help to keep alive the many memories of the past year. We Dedic ate The I967 Mesquite-O Q i lll Carolyn Zimnkkrm Z for Zim Mrs. Zim , as she is affectionately known by students and teachers alike, is Mesquite High School's number one booster. An avid sports fan-she yells both for the Skeeters and for the Baylor Bears-a dedicated teacher, and always ready with an encouraging word, Mrs. Zim is truly an asset to MHS. Her list of credits is a long one. She received her Masters Degree in Education from East Texas State University and has taught in the Mesquite School System for twelve years. 7'3- i . 53 1 X -1 vsifiigl . H, . yyyg ..,a... Mrs. Zimmerman's first teaching position in Mesquite was at Agnew junior High, there, she taught American history. At MHS, she teaches business law, salesmanship, busi- ness math, and typing. For many years, Mrs. Zim served as a Senior class sponsor. And she was the Mesquite-O advisor for ten years. In view of her many contributions to Mes- quite High School and to the community it- self, we proudly dedicate the 1967 Mesquite- O to Mrs. Carolyn Zimmerman. 3 .Si .fi Jer, l -M Ana' when om' J'LIlId.l' have frzffefz Though lifehr gfefzzf bozzrglfziy Zllfzy we have fired 11 fife Tim! 0ilJe11r might 1'eme11zber.
