Girls--M-T's leading girls golfer Ian Jacobsen once again missed most of the golf season with illness. Some came on late in the season which shows promise for next year's golferettes. These girls are Dorie Nielsen, Lisa Groh, Vanessa Kessler, Jenee Lage, and Suzie Mabb. They won 3 and lost 7. Finished fifth in the conference golf meet. Boys--The golf team was made up of six boys of whom only two had golfed prior to this spring. Barry Groh, and Billy Vierkant had previous experience but the rest of the team is young and will need a lot of work to be com- petitive next season. They won 2 and lost 7. Finished fourth in the conference golf meet. The Lancers set five new school marks this year. The strength of Lancer track team was centered around the sprints and field events past season. Records were established in these areas: Brian Nissen the pace as he cleared 6'O in the high jump to rank him in the top r class C jumpers in the State. Brian was also conference cham- n. Mick Kreitlow set a new mark in the pole vault with a jump of ' '0. Barry Groh lowered the 100 dash standard to 10.4, 'and Alvin 1 :ike did the same in the 220 dash with a time of 23.8. The 440 re- 1 y fMark Fischer, Steve Oppermann, Barry Groh, and Alvin Deikej 1 is a strong threat throughout the year and also established a new nool mark of 46.4, ranking them as the eighth fastest unit in the ate.
