These fellows were grouped with our other seniors Ricky Hagen fhon- orable mention all-conferencej, Tom Ward, Jay Butler, Darwyn Pals, Brian Nissen and Mickey Krietlow. The Lancers completed the season with a four and four record. The Lancers were victorious against Du- mont, Corwith-Wesley qhomecomingj, Klemme, and Cal. The Lancers leading ground gainer was Steve Oppermann, leading individual tackler for the Lancers and a new school record was Steve Schmidt. The Lancer squad chose Randy Ruiter and Steve Oppermann as team co- captains. Underclassmen who helped the Lancers this past fall and will be returning next fall are, Barry Groh, Chuck Gifford, Mark Fischer, Kevin Sprau, Randy Pals, Scott Sprau, Denny Avery, Brad Gruis, Scott Nicolet. The Lancers seemed to be in most games until late innings when the pitching staff seemed to slim down. The lone win was by Reese Gaetzke against Rockwell-Swaledale. In that game Andy Faa- borg got the key hit to drive in the winning run. Although the season was not successful in the won and loss column, many young fellows received impor- tant experience. Leading hitters were Andy Faaborg and Darwyn Pals. X
