W-'vw' W alia new A salty sea breeze pushes a sailboat ahead-like- wise the Student Council boosts the spirit and moral of Mesa High students. The council, made up of three student body of- ficers, three class presidents, a Girls' League president, a Boys' League president, and eight commissioners, met every Tuesday during the second lunch hour with Mr. Humphrey, Mr. Kilbourne, and a guest teacher. Responsible for the various school activities, such as the Hello Party, and Homecoming, the Student Council works hard on each project they encounter. Being selected by the student body in an election held last May, they listen patiently to complaints and sug- gestions to make the year more successful. The high-light of the year for the student govern- ment leaders was the Student Council Week and the Student Council Convention held at Pueblo High School in Tucson during the month of December. Mr. Hum- phrey and other faculty members accompanied them to this annual event.
