lnrewnril hat is a line? ls it a string or a wire? ls it a ruled pencil mark? A line is anything you want it to be.lt is an idea, able to be molded into unseen depths and brilliant heights, lt is a concept, ready for you to build into magnificent reality or to shameful untruthfulness. A line can be the world in which we live, and it can be life itself. But a line has its separate meaning to each individual. Narrowing it down even further, a line possesses a different definition to every student of Mesa High. To the sophomores, a line might be the path leading to two years from now, when they will be the leaders of the school. To them a line may be indefinite, always turned towards higher hopes and growing adulthood. Juniors may visualize a line as the endless encour- agement and assistance they have experienced, push- ing them onward to their third and final year in high school. lt may be the dream of superiority that has finally come true. Seniors may have many viewpoints of a line. To them it can be memories of the activities they have lived together as a class: it can be the accomplishments and honors they have achieved. To seniors, a line may be the long, marching assembly they compose on commencement night, dressed in cap and gown. lt may be the feeling that, after they accept their cherished diplomas, they will soon separate. Maybe lines to them are the highways to self-respon- sibility or hopes for success. What is a line to you? A line is what you make it, and this SUPERSTITION will bring to you-in pictures and stories-some of the most important lines Mesa High's Associated students and faculty have built this past year, and will long remember . . .
