Harvey L. Taylor Rulon T. Shepherd Superintendent Assistant Superintendent f fel' CPG fdllflefl For twenty years, we have known the soft-spoken man of many accomplishments, Harvey L. Taylor. Through the years he has seen the progress of our school and has made improvements needed around Mesa High become realities. Paved walks sprang up from wellvworn paths, the auditorium was re- modeled and fixed with accoustics, a modern cafe- teria took the place of the south field and a new stadium was built and named in his honor. This year Mr. Taylor is leaving us to accept the post of Executive Assistant to the President of Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Mr. Shepherd has been assistant superintendent of the Mesa schools for eight years. The school board has chosen him to be superintendent now, since Mr. Taylor's resignation. Behind Mr, Taylor and Mr. Shepherd to help run the schools property is the school board. They are the overseers that help all of us to gain our higher learning. The school board, Melvin L. Kent, William H. Passey, Dwight Patterson, pose for their picture on the front steps. ,,, W-4-f

Iohn C. White Principal Our new principal this year has done a wonderful job in helping us cut and polish these gems of ours. lohn C. White was new to the position but not to Mesa High. ln l9fl7 he came to Mesa to teach junior and senior social studies. He was also senior sponsor for some time. Because of the increasing responsibilities that sup' erintendent of schools entailed, last year Mr. Taylor concluded that he would have to give up the prine cipalship and Mr. White was chosen to fill the large shoes Mr. Taylor left. We wish Mr. White even more success in the followf ing years he spends here at Mesa High 'Take a letter, please,' are fainiliar words to Mrs. Martha lohnson, Mr, Whites efficient secretary. Martha not only answers the phone, types, and takes letters in shorthand, but also puts out the weekly bulletin and special announcements, and takes minutes at faculty meetings. lgrinciloa
