-Joan. Davis' LU' 0,0 .SQAOIGPJ Our mural would not be complete without recognizing the scholastically elite at Mesa High. This year they were four very ambitious students, who excelled not only in scholarship, but also leadership, character and service. Top honors iustly went to .loan Davis, whose conscientious efforts as student body vice president helped to make Mesa High the wonderful school that it is. After four years of constant work, she not only won the D.A.R. and Elks Awards, but also merited the final honor of being valedictorian. Salutotorians were Donna Brinton, John Jarvis and Anita Cox. Donna, because of her initiative, dependability and power of organization, efficiently presided over the Girls' League. Valedictorian John was president of his sophomore class. His senior year was kept busy by the many tedious hours of work which accompany the office of Athletic Commissioner. The fruits of Anita's two-year cheerleading efforts have helped to produce Mesa's school spirit. She was also president of the Dance Club and took a leading part in the operetta Rio Rita .
