The student is led to an understanding of his dignity as an indi- vidual and of his responsibility as a member of society. He is taught to .think clearly, logically, comprehensively, to e.xamine facts under the light of true reason, and to act according to ethical principles. All the glories of the past and of this twentieth century are his for the full life if, by self-discipline of hard work and moral courage, he will translate this knowledge into high and noble action.
