Then, only too soon it happens . . . Senior year. Couldn’t wait for it to come and now so much is happen- ing, so many decisions, the years just went too fast. “Am I ready for it? To be on my own? To do what I want? Total confusion! It’s fright- ening to think that this is the year which may determine what the rest of my life will be like. What will it be? Col- lege, marriage, vocational school? I’m too young to make all these decisions. Graduation, will I laugh or cry? Will I keep my friends after high school? W hat am I gonna do?” Dazed and con- fused! It sure seems to fit. Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors. All combine to form one student body. So much alike yet so different. Each individual has his or her dreams and hopes of the year that lies ahead. 4

June, July, August . . . summer ends much too quickly. The warm carefree days of lying in the sun are over. It is now September, signaling the start of another school year. What will it be like? Every student has his or her own dreams and hopes of the year which lies ahead. Sophomores . . . some- what afraid, yet excited about going to the high school. “It’s so big, I’ll prob- ably get lost. Classes, there are so many things to re- member, I know I’ll flunk my English class. I hear they pile on the homework. I won’t know anybody there, I’ll never see any of my old friends. What am I gonna do? So much more freedom, but with freedom comes re- sponsibility? Can I handle it?” Juniors . . . Already estab- lished in their patterns of study, of friendships and of behavior. “This year is gonna be a lot of fun. The dances, the football games, the parties. I’ve sure missed my friends over the summer but, now that I have my li- cense we’ll go everywhere! What will prom be like? Just think, only one more year before I’m a senior!” 3 WHAT OT W0H1L H
