in homecoming parade The night before the parade is always most hectic around midnight. It seems as if the float will never get done and all nerves are at the breaking point. Everyone wishes that they would have cut out a few nights at Macs and helped more on the float. As pieces of the float are scattered about the floor, getting it together on time looks hopeless. Suddenly as if by magic all of the pieces assemble themselves and as you stand looking at the finished product you feel very proud. This year it was the junior class that felt the proudest of any. Their float, “Pirates Will Get A Head , won first place, and they found that all of their hard work was worth it. TOP LEFT: Adding finishing touches fo the first place junior float is Rick Talmadge. TOP CENTER: Working diligently on the senior float is Jim Perko. ABOVE: It takes group effort to get chicken wire stuffed, as shown by Joni Hansen, Kathy Na- dolski and Cindy Zimny. BOTTOM LEFT: This sophomore float took third place in the class competition. BOTTOM CENTER: For the first time in three years, seniors were de- moted to a second place ranking with this float. Fans came in spite of weather . Powder puff practices seemed well worthwhile for the junior players as they beat the sophomores and dumped the senior girls. Excitement built for the homecoming game that was played on a chilly, but rewarding night. Jackie Smith was announced as the 1973-1974 home- coming Queen and Ken Dike received the honor of being named Mr. Football.
