Some Enchanted Evening Couples danced to soft music at the Junior Prom of 1972-1973, being held for the first time away from school. The prom was presented by the Class of 1974 at the Creek Orthodox Hall, break- ing the usual tradition of holding prom in the high school gymnasium. The theme, Some Enchanted Evening was cho- sen by the juniors and was carried out by deco- rations of flower-covered pillars with a water fountain surrounded by a trinkling river with gatherings of lily pads. The high point of the evening came when prom royalty gathered on the stage to await the an- nouncement of King and Queen. Last year ' s Prom King Dan Absher crowned a surprised Perry Taber and a beaming Cay Peters as King and Queen of the Junior Prom. The couple then led the Grand March around the ballroom. Slowly, the dance began to break up to head for the Post-Prom Party sponsored by the P.T.O. Most prom-goers were up until 4:30 a.m. to fin- ish the not-to-be-forgotten weekend with a cozy picnic at a state park. Prom 21
