A- V classes bring sight and sound With a look of unders tanding, Ken Marlowe learns from Mr. Woolridge the proper use of the overhead projector. The art of parallel parking . . . stop, look, and turn . . . drive defensively ” . . . remem- bering to get a driver ' s education permit . . . changing a flat tire in school clothes . . . are the main objectives of the driver education classes. A teacher demonstrating a math problem on the overhead projector . . . learning through movies . . . taping a speech or an oral book report . . . typing to music . . . these con- veniences are brought to use by the audio vis- ual department. The fundamentals of tape recording will be used often by Tom Smith, Dean Coveris and Joe Galati as they assist teachers in using A-V equipment. Tips on maneuvering a car out of a parking space are given by Mr. Englehart.

The rush to the locker room to get ready on time . . . rigorous calisthenics . . . sweaty gym clothes . . . the basic principles of modern dance . . . cold showers . . . football, basketball and baseball . . . study guides filled with game rules ... a week at the MerriBowl . . . weekend washdays ... leg lifts . . . trampoline holidays . . . humid locker rooms . . . five laps around the football field . . . frizzy hair . . . remind MHS students of their high school physical education classes. Leg lifts don’t look hard to do, but try them! Nothing is as quiet as an empty locker room — but — wait until the girls come in for that five-minute change. 9
