UP AND COMING SOPHOMORES CLASS OFFICERS: Standing: Mr. Dow, Don Karslen. Sealed: Don Hurlburt, James Campbell, Don Smith, Lennie Schmidt, Mr. Demaree, Miss Phillips. In the second year of high school, the sophomore class was under the leadership of Don Smith, presi- dent; Don Hurlburt, secretary; James Campbell, treasurer; and Don Karslen, sergeant-at-arms. The sponsors were Miss Phillips, Mr. Demaree, and Mr. Dow. Later in the year Miss O ' Neal took over Miss Phillip ' s duties as sponsor. Maroon and white were the colors chosen for the traditional sophomore sweaters , which arrived just after Christmas. Shirley Miller was the queen candidate for the Football Hop. The Leap Hop sponsored by the sophomore class was held February 29. Page Seventeen
