MAR ION OLS ON This mischievous, happy-go-lucky fellow stands at five feet, eleven inches and tops the scales at one hundred, eighty pounds, He was born August 24, 1935 at Merna, Nebraska, He must be a good student because he said he liked mathematics and geo- graphy, He likes two of America's favorite sports, football and baseball, in which he has taken part for a number of years, When asked what was the happiest memory of his school years he remarked, The last day' of school every year, This surely wasn't because he didn't like school, probably it was because he liked picnics so well, It seems like this guy had just one embarrassing moment in his life and that was Freshman initiation, I wonder how that could have been embarrassing ? Did I say he liked school? That must have been an error because he said his pet peeve was teachers: When asked what he did in his leisure time, he said huh, that being his favorite expression, and then added that he liked to sleep when he had any leisure time, You're probably wondering how his short fellow got to weigh so much, but if you asked him what his favorite food was he would say fried chicken, Now do you wonder how he got to weigh one hundred, eighty pounds, For his extra curricular activities he likes singing and his favorite song is At The End of a Perfect Day , When asked how he felt about graduation, he stated that he was glad to see it come and his only ambition after he graduated was to be a success in life, Oh: I guess Ihave omitted one thing to make this little story complete and that was to tell you this fellow's name, Well, it's Marion Olson, a Senior at Merna High School, STANLEY YOUNG A sandy colored hair boy first opened his blue eyes in Oregon City, Oregon, on May ZZ, 1934, to see his parents Mr, and Mrs, Dale Young, The name Stanley Dale was given to him, He has never figured out where his parents got this name, Stanley said he had many childhood experiences which he wouldnever forget although he did not say what they were, This lad picked Marysville School in Portland, Oregon to begin his school days, He has attended Gates, Broken Bow, Curtiss QU, N, S, Aj, and last but not least to finish his high school days, Merna, All through these past twelve years he has found mathematics his favorite subject, while his ambition is to graduate, He likes to listen to the songs Baby It's Cold Outside and Meandering while eating his favorite dish, Chop Suey , He likes to go to Broken Bow to see a certain Senior during his leisure time, On his way to a baseball game, his special liked sport, one could probably hear him saying Hi Ya Toots . When he isn't at baseball games you can find him working at his hobby, leather tooling, He.said he really enjoys playing in the band, Stanley said he liked girls, especially one, although when asked his favorite movie star he replied, Gary Cooper, of course , Lavendar is the color that catches the eye of this tall Senior, High heels and slacksf he said sternly, when asked his pet peeve, When asked about graduating, he just frowned and scratched his head and replied, HI just don't feel too sure about it,

REBA LA DONNA SELLS lt was back in 1934 on October 27, when the stork delivered a bundle weighing 5 pounds, lt was delivered to the Mr, and Mrs, George Sells home on the West Table of Merna, Nebraska, When La Donna was four and a half years of age she started to school in the kindergarten at Anselmo, 'Nebraska. La Donna found she was, going to like school very much so she decided to come to Merna until the sixth grade and then moved to South Dakota where she went to Serry School until she was in the eighth grade, She then decided to come back to Merna and has attended school in Merna since that time, La Donna's happiest days of high school were when she received her rings and when Bruce Cole was still attending school, La Donna spends most of her spare time with Bruce and working in the drug store, She has a hobby of collecting empty perfume bottles and has nearly two hundred of them now, She likes football and base- ball very much and spends her extra time playing music, Her favorite movie actress is June Allyson and her favorite movie actor is Randolph Scott, She likes to hear the songs Slow Poke and Button Up Your Overcoat best, Her favorite food is T-Bone Steak and her favorite colors are blue and yellow, Her happiest experience in grade school was when she was chosen May Queen, Her pet peeve is people who break off her pencil leads when she is in a hurry, She earned her first dollar working in the drug store, La Donna has liked school very much and will hate to leave school although she has much to look forward tog as her two ambitions are to get married and teach school, FRANKLYN MANNING - . On April Z, 1934, ina little sod house 4 lfZ miles southeast of Merna, Paul and Alice Manning were surprised when their second child was a bouncing boy, He was given the name of Franklyn after his grandfather Manning, He had many childhood experiences but the one he remembers most was the time he set the haystack behind their house on fire, He started to school in Merna but left to attend District 92 from grades 3 to 7, He then returned to Merna to finish his happy school days, His favorite past time is going to the movies, but he also finds time to enjoy biology, algebra, and journalism while at school, He thinks Mrs, Manning was his favorite teacher even if she did make him slave and get his lessons done, He considers stuck up girls his pet peeve, but with Christmas his best enjoyed holiday he forgets all his troubles with women, Franklyn has an appetite for both food and women, To satisfy his appetite for food he eats graham cracker pie and fried chicken while a date with Shirley Hirsch ends his woman troubles, Football and basketball are his favorite sports, but he found pleasure in the class plays, He also likes to sing Morning Side of the Mountain or Too Young , but when talking his most used expression is Oh Beans , Among his most embarrassing moments was the time Mr, Adams found Franklyn wrestling with some boys in the laboratory, His face turned red, but he didn't mind as red is his favorite color, His happiest memory was the night he met Shirley Hirsch watermelon swiping and he dreads graduating, His only ambition is to be a success,

PATRICIA MCCARTY On August 18, 1934 a little bundle of joy was delivered to the Frank McCarty home near Merna, Nebraska, She had black hair and green eyes and her favorite uncle named her Patricia, She spent her first eight years of school in various country schools, but has spent her last four years at Merna High, Her most interesting childhood experience was getting a bicycle, She said her most embarrassing moment was when she got caught smoking behind the chicken house, Her favorite subjects are typing and journalism, and she also likes basketball and apple pie, Her happiest memory while in high school was playing hookey, Her favorite song is Thinking of You , and her hobby is collecting magazines, She spends most of her lesiure time listening to the radio and her pet peeve is puppy love affairs, Her ambition is to travel and her favorite movie star is Tyrone Power, She likes to say Real1yf and her favorite color is blue, She has carried the bass drum around Merna for the four years of her high school career, but she still thinks music is her favorite extra curricular activity, When the interviewer asked her how she felt about graduating she said, lt can't come too soon, GLEE HARROLD Leona Glee Harrold made her first appearance in a little farm house near Merna on May 20, 1935, She attended Wayside, Ortello, and the Merna schools as did most of her six sisters, She had decided that her favorite subjects are algebra and general math, Her most embarrassing moment happened during her Sophomore Year, While the teacher was taking roll call at school, a large sack of candy fell out of Glee's desk and scattered all over the floor, Was her face red: The sports she likes best are playing volleyball and watching basketball games, Glee feels she has little leisure time, but what time she has is spent reading books and eating popcorn, When she doesn't have popcorn to eat, she says her favorite foods are fried chicken and cherry pie, Glee said 'she earned her first dollar killing sparrows in the barn for her dad, Other child- hood experiences included the time her sister told her she could eat another peach and her mother had said she could not, Glee ate one and received a spanking, Her favorite song is Mr, and Mississippi and she said she could not give a favorite expression because they were too numerous to name, She seems to prefer green to any other color and her ambition is to go on to school after she graduates, Although Glee plans to eventually teach she admits she hates to graduate and leave Merna for good, She says her favorite holiday is Christmas which can be detected by her excitement when this season draws near,
