BOBBY SHOUSE DONALD HUNT 4 BOBBY DYE Left Tackle Center Left End MERKEL - 12 WINTERS - 7 Two oldrivals got together for some spine tingling football in this game. With the score 'I - 6 in favor of the Blizzards the Badgers put on a scoring drive from the fifty yard line: Billy Harris climaxed the drive with a beautiful run from the 12 yard line and crossed the goal line standing up with the winning TD. MERKEL - 19 ALBANY - 20 The Badgers met the Albany Lions with the District Championship riding on the out- come. It was the most bitterly contested game of the season. Only after the smoke from the final gun had cleared away did the Merkel fans realize that the fighting Bad- gers had been shaded by a single point. Harris made all three TD's for the Badgers. All the boys displayed hard blocking and tackling to take the first conference game of the season. MERKEL 20 ROBY ' 0 The first half was scoreless. As the second half got under way, Bob Johnson returned a punt for '70 years to the one yard line. The Badgers were never headed from there on. Dudley, Bowen and Black distinguished themselves on defense. MERKEL - 25 ROSCOE - 14 Two arch rivals displayed some rugged blocking and tackling in this game. The Bad- gers were up to the occasion and carried the fight to the favored Plowboys. Harris was outstanding on defense. intercepting 3 Plowboy passes. Dale Dudley also played a sparkling defensive game, MERKEL - 27 HASKELL ' 7 On avery cold and dreary night the Badgers had trouble getting started against the Haskell Indians, Billy Harris intercepted two passes to set up the first ing defensive player, MERKEL ' 50 THROCKMORTON ' 6 Gaylon Johnson and Bob Johnson were the offensive stars of this final game of the season. Gaylon passed to Bowen 50 yards for a TD. Boblohnson ran 60 yards on a screen pass play and a TD. McCoy was out- standing pass receiver, ANXIOUS MOMENTS two rallies for the Badgers.
