Qehbahbn In the fall of 1949 a newcomer stood in the doorway of Merkel High School--our new superin tendent. Both faculty and student body quickly received an inspiration. To follow knowledge like a sinking star, Beyond the utmost bound of human thought. During these three years we have come to love and respect and admire this man's personality not only for his wholesome character, likeable disposition, and high ideals, but for the influ- ence he has upon our lives. It is difficult to express the important things he does because they represent the intangible quali- ties which enrich the character and improve the mind. We rejoiced with him when his ardent dream became a reality--the acceptance of our school into membership of the Southern Associa- tion of Colleges and Secondary Schools. In sincere appreciation we dedicate this the Nineteen Hundred Fifty-two BADGER to Superinten- dent Mack Fisher.
