74:06 Fra-siumenfnlif Enslgnz D. Williams, vice-president, E. Gilda, president, P. Brackett, secretary, D. Baucke, treasurer, Mr. Holland, advisor. Missed the bout: lrene Johnson, representative. After worrying about finding classes and avoiding seniors, the sixty shipmates of the freshman class got off to a good start. Besides school work, most of the class joined clubs, went to the games, and bopped at the dances. For ensigns, the class chose Ed Gilda, president, Dennis Williams, vice president, Patsy Brackett, secretary, Donna Baucke, treasurer, and Irene Johnson, freshman student body represent- ative. Several girls were in the drill team and two freshman girls, Sharon White and Sandra Miner, were chosen majorettes. Most of the boys played on the junior high sport teams. Popular, brunette, Donna Baucke was chosen to be freshman princess at the carnival. A chorus of thirty-nine freshman girls sang for some of the school's programs, This was the largest girls' chorus M.H.S. has ever had. The girls were under the direction of Nlr. Don Sires, music teacher. Avalea Sprague was pianist. Mr. Holland is the freshman class advisor. FIRST ROW: L. Franklin, C. Minaker, S. Miner, J. Eckert, G. Blasdell, J. Hawks, L. Forbes, A. .0W' This year has been successful, but vve are sure it couldn't have been if we had not had the leaders we did. Mr. Lindaas is a congenial, competent super- intendent who receives the cooperation of both the teachers and the students. Nlr. Kratz, our enthusiastic Admirals: B. Raymond, W. Oltmcn, E. oe: .2 principal, showed in hislfirst year that he is success- ful in getting along with the students while keeping them in line. Our capable school board has given much of its time in working out our problems. Underhill, V. Clarkson, L. Megcird.
