Hayes were elected to represent their class as officers. Judy Pike was chosen as to represent their class as carnival royalty. They ended their freshman year by having a picnic at a local park. Being sophomores, the class of '59 had the privilege of initiating the fresh man. Elected as class officers for the year were: D. Wright, K. Ritchie, S Gansler, M. Hanks, D. Abbot, and D. Hammell. Chosen to represent their class at the annual carnival was Maxine Hanks. Jean Meyer and Deanna Megard were cho sen as student body song leaders. During their junior year J. Meyer, R. Upper, W. Sheppard, M. Johnson K Ritchie, and J. Pike served as class officers. Myrna Johnson was chosen to rep resent their class as carnival royalty. Paul Sires was elected as chairman of the annual Junior What-What. General chairman for the junior-senior banquet was Brenda Baldwin. The class of '59 started their final year off by going to the Puyallup Fa-lr for their senior sneak . Class officers for the year were B. Jarvis, B. Mandott, C. Oser, K. Anderson, and J. Oltman. For their senior play they presented a three- act comedy entitled Hillbilly Weddin . Lovely Sharon Anderson was elected to reign over the annual carnival. Given a wonderful farewell in May in the form of a banquet and prom, the class of '59 received a grand send off. Baccalaureate and graduation were the final rewards for their four trying and exciting years at Meridian High School. 3 U? Yi Y-14-AV. . 7 Motto: Conduct and courage lead to honor I I , . Jgxxi AAAJX
