From the opening moment which portrayed the sailing of Cornelia Otis Skinner and Emily Kimbrough for France in l923, to the final scene where they leave Paris for home, the actors and stage crews did an efficient and colorful iob. Joann Meyer's portrayal of Cornelia was lively and amusing as she was alternately dram- atic and slinky, building to the monologue in the third act, which actually started the real Cornelia off on an acting career and climaxed the play. Barbara Johnson, as Emily, made a delightful foil for the dramatic Cornelia. She handled her line with deft humor. Tom Tabor, as the urbane Otis Skinner, delivered his wit in true theatrical manner. Mrs. Skinner, played by Marilyn Baker, was realistic as the doting ITWEHTUUB. Jerry House, in the role of steward, was effectively puzzled by the young ladies' behavior. Bob Little, as the ship's purser, and Pat Hawk, stewardess, were convincing. Competeritly handling the part of Admiral, actually the ship's band leader, was Dennis Lord. Jim Horgen and Ron Hillmer, as Leo ancl Dick, the boys Cornelia and Emily met on the boat, were believable as Harvard medical students. English accents of Betty Mills and Judy Ruzicka, as Harriet and Winifred, were accurate, and their interpretations of their roles skillful. Joyce Hayes was capable as the medical inspector, while Jackie Aker and Pauline Joneli, as Therese and Madame Elise, gave their characters poise and neatness, handling their French accents well. The importunate Monsieur de La Croix was vividly portrayed by Bob Holz, Jack Mooney, the window cleaner, added to the last act. Good staging was notable in every scene, with the ncw lights used for maximum dramatic emphasis. Mr. Riehl was director, with Janice Pike student director.
