If you look at your life from the right angle, you could say that life is just a series of decisions. One choice after another, linked in an endless sequence. Perhaps you might consider all these choices as a series of crossroads on a pathway: life. So as we go from one intersection to the next, we gain experience and confidence. The greater difficulty of the challenges are met and con' quered because of our increasing decision-mak- ing skills. Some choices are small: which shirt should I wear today? Where should we go for lunch to- day? Other decisions are of greater importance: What classes will I take this year? Will I go to college? These choices are becoming more and more common as we grow older. According to Indian legend, there was a mes- senger famed for his swiftness. He would bear tidings of both the victories and defeats of his tribe. In this editor's opinion, this must have been a difficult choice to make: after all, this would have been a rather dangerous duty. The possibility of capture by the enemy tribes or being attacked by a wild animal would have been high. Whether or not he ever was hurt really isn't important, because it was just a dangerous duty he chose to undertake. To say that his choice was a good one or a bad one is purely a matter of opinion, but this editor's opinion is that he made a good choice. And the young man's name?
