Text from Pages 1 - 104 of the 1984 volume:

To a gentleman who has given more than thirty years of service to the Meredosia- Chambersburg School District, the staff of the 1984 CHIEF wishes to dedicate this book. Thank you, Russ, and may your years of retirement bring you contentment and peace. SERVICE A man may lose his strength; he may lose his money; he may lose every earthly thing which he possesses. Yet he may still attain and control his happiness if it stems from service to others. He who makes service to others his method of obtain- ing happiness has in his possession something which comes from within his own mind, from within his own soul, and which is controlled largely by his own will or desire. Most other things are beyond control .of an individual, and circumstances may deprive him of them. 2 —George E. Let's see what has happened to those teenagers of years gone by. GE0RG1ANNA ALLEN has made history by being the first woman shortstop for the St. Louis Cardinals. TY ALLEN is a candidate for the new Blues BYothers film. .JAMES BROWN is still looking for a car with a hood that isn't the same color as his hair. MISSY CANFIELD is trying to find a car that will run. MIKE CARMEAN is running a shelter for injured greasers to help put them out of their miserj BOBBY CHARLES can't seem to tell the difference between a duck and a dog. He never did get over that accident. CHERYL CLARK just cut a new record for RCA entitled, Younger Men Make Better Lovers. LOIS COLEMAN RIGG hasn't adjusted to her name change yet and is still looking for the coal man. Due to the absence of Mr. T, TODD COOLEY has filled the position to a T . ROGER DAVIDSON is wandering through the crowd looking for Mrs. Fuelling to help him with his accounting fundamentals. And the Smurfs had better beware, because SUSAN DAWSON is travelling the country de- stroying as many of them as she can find. ANDY DOWSON, too, is having trouble with cars—he is trying to keep his on all four wheals VERNON DUNAWAY is traveling to explore the large cities in Spot. Poor CLAUDENE EASLEY has not been able to overcome her urge to argue even though she has tried for all these many years. No, Claudene, the earth is not flat. If you see a silver pickup around, it is sure to be DIANA EASLEY making her way from place to place. GINGER FEMMER is busy in her tree factory, helping the KEEBLER elves make ginger snaps — and keeping her own accounting books—AND MAKING A MILLION DOLLARS a year. Look! Here come's TRACY GERECKE, leader of Meatball's Motorcycle Gang. And there stands LISA GREGORY, waiting for the rest of the shorthand class to catch up. CINDY HAMMITT is still rearranging her clothes so she won't have bulges. Now would be the time for some good music, if only RITCHIE KLOPFER has achieved a spot in the group ALABAMA To go along with the music we don't have, VALERIA LARIMER is dancing her way into a succ- essful love life. ROBERT MCDANIELS is still trying to live down the nickname BOB . DARIN MORRELL is still trying to find a process for getting taller, and CARLA OLSON is still making her annual trips to Florida. JIMMY RAUSCH has not worked his way to the day that he can give Jeff B. a ride around, but is still trying. Good Luck, Jim. JA lost a good manager in OREN RUSSWINKEL, but he is now helping younger and stronger high school students to make their way to those high ideals that he attained in the years Jhe participated in the program.........and so on and so on etc, etc. CINDY RUYLE still spends much of her time deciding whether or not she likes her clothes and her fried hair. Couples in the high school hallways are still a study for LILA RUYLE as she waits for Doug to return. KIM SCHMITZ is still very affec.tionate, and enjoys seeing all her friends, whereever they meet. RONNY SULLINGER has finally gotten away from his older sisters and can now pick out his own clothes. CHRIS WILHITE still attends all athletic events in Dosh to keep everyone on their toes. CLINT FARGO is giving DR. J a hard time on the basketball court, because as Dr. J's coach he can't seem to make himself heard. Anyone wanting some gourmet candy, go to LORI MUELLER'S CANDY BOUTIQUE for the finest chocolates in Meredosia. Since JANICE BROWN has taken over the local barber shop, everyone has the new punker hairstyles. AND LAST, BUT DEFINITELY NOT LEAST, don't forget DAVID WERRIES, following in his father's footsteps, has one of the finest farms east of town and lives in the lap of luxury.
