S.D. 12-0 T riopia 8-22 Southeastern cops Meredosia crown Central girls varsity wins CAMP POINT, in - Although the Central junior varsity girls volleyball team lost to Meredosia 20-10. 20-14. the Central varsity won 20-3, 20-10 Tuesday night. Central's next game is at Liberty on Tuesday. MEREDOSIA, 111. - Southeastern defeated Brown County 75-38 here Saturday night to win the Meredosia- Chambersburg Tournament. The Suns jumped to a 20-6 first quarter lead and were never contested as Rod Bruenger led Southeastern with 16 points. Meredosia - Chambers burg won the third place game with a 47-43 victory over Bluffs as Todd Rausch scored 15 points. Kevin Long topped Bluffs with 17 points. Named to the all-tournament team were Bruenger and Bob Rankin of Southeastern, Greg Gordley, of M-C, Dave Rang of Brown County and Kevin Long of Bluffs. Industry now 4-0 and 2-0 in the WAC, scored as Paul McHone scooped up a Mere- dosia fumble and scooted 40 yards for the TD. The visitors then booted the deciding point. Meredosia also scored in the fourth quarter on a 40 yard pass play from quarter- back Tony Hall to Don Brad- ley. The run for die two point conversion failed. The Indians mow' for nine first downs, 123 yards on the ground 55 in the air as they completed three of seven aerials with one interception. Industry gained 12 first downs, netting 122 rushing and 19 in the air, completing two of five aerial attempts with no interceptions. MEREDOSIA DEFEATED 20—0 Triopia High School got the season underway on the right foot Friday night with a 20-0 non-conference football win over the Meredosia Indians as Kendell Cooper scored 3 touch downs. Cooper scored in each of the last tliree quarters and rushed the ball 26 times for a total of 108 yards while Mark Bridges added 100 yards rushing for the winners. Brian Staake picked off one pass for Meredosia while Trio pi had 225 yards rushing and 80 passing as Morris hit four of ntnA M-c .iKLS VOLLEYBALL VS. CAMP POINT SEPT. 27 Tuesday, September 27. M-C Girls Volleyball Team traveled to Camp Point Central. In J. V. action, M-C took the 3 game match 20-1 . 11-20 and 20-14. High scorers for M-C were Bradley with 10, Ridings with 9 and Smith with 8. For Centra1ft lie high scorer was Brady witjf 13. In Varsi 'action Central won the 2 game match 20-3 and 20-10.
