CLASS PROPHECY We.ll, it is now 19S4--Voug Parker and Pat Tegeder, ace reporters of the Hew Volk Sun, set out'on their most important assignment--to cover the present lives of, the Senior clan of, 1966 of the city of Mer edosia, Illinois. It was a small midwestern town with a population of 1,009, but in eighteen short yeans the small town of Vosh has become an industrious city, with a population of 100,003 citizens. First stop is in our own city of Hew York. Here we find Ernest Koch, ex-Mr. America, who is running a small reducing saloon on Tenth Avenue. As we travel on- ward we come to Fifth Avenue, where we find such famous personalities, as our own little Jani McCartney, who has worked and argued herself into the position of the most sought after divorce lawyer in the United States. A little farther on we enter the plush pent-house apartment and office of millionaire, playboy, Bruce Larson. He is the present editor of Mad Magazine and Co-editor of Cavalier; no- thing like running two best sellers. Hext, we decide to take a short break and spend a nice evening at Radio City Hall. Much to our amazement, Mary Standley is in the chorus line. We had a chance to talk to her and learned she is now 43rd girl. We now board a chartered Pan-Am jet bound for London, we finally arrive after a very nice crossing and there is one of our classmates, Vave Edlen. He is here to greet us. We find out he is the Chief Exec of S.L.O.B., an extremely secret intel- ligence agency [Society for the Legalization of the Obliteration of Barbarianism.) Accompanying him is secret agent 7-11, Ernest Gregory. We go to headquarters for lunch, where we find Mx-6-6 Linda Bowen, Dave's private secretary. Unfortunately, we are not able to stay very long, so we trudge onward to Paris where we find. . .oh well'. Brad, you really should stick to selling. A little later on we run across Garold Brant, a now independent millionaire, who made his first million in a shrewd investment in Widgets. As much as we would like to stay in Paris, we must travel on to Germany for a short visit with Owen Hamman, a now infamous Bohemian Gun-Runner. Hext, we go across the iron curtain to Moscow, where unfortunately we find a few of our classmates have defected to the other side. First, we are interro- gated by John Kunzeman, who is now head man of F.I.H.K. [Federal Investigation of national Kolkhoz--collective farms in Soviet Russia], chief opposition of S.L.O.B. Here we also find tomrade, Janet Staake, extra private secretary to F.I.H.K. We are also privileged to meet their chief executioner, Terry Simon [we would never have thought you had it in you, Terry], We are informed they have captured one of our U-2 planes. It was shot down two days ago directly over Moscow. The pilot, Capt. Don Fanshier, kept mumbling something about taking recon. pictures of Cuba. As we ace reporters are only a few hours in flight from deepest Africa, we deccde to jaunt on down to see the Dark Continent. Once we land at Hairobi, the bustling jungle city in the heart of Kenya, we are overjoyed to see our old class- mate, Jungle Jim Fanshier. J. J. is now the most sought-after great white hunter xn Africa. After reminiscing about old times, B'wana Jim agrees to lead these hot- shot journalists through the dense rain jungles of South Africa. The trip is long and hot, but well worth it, for at the end is a gigantic pea- nut plantation owned by none other than Gary Clark and his lovely spouse, Carol Ruh. After bumming a meal off Gary and Carol, we stumble onward across the Indian Ocean to Australia--on a garbage scow. The scow is hit by a school of flying frish and sinks immediately, despite the valiant efforts of the captain, who sent smoke signals of distress by burning the lifeboats. Fear not, fair reader, this brave twosome will fight their way ashore and be rescued by their old friend whom they haven't seen in many years, Loren Dunmire. Butch” as he was called, owns two million acres of sand and...er. . . that is, two million acres of fine grazing land between Melbourne and Sidney, upon which he did raise seven sheep and a muskrat. All seven of the sheep died and the muskrat finally expired too--after it was stepped on by an eleven-foot kangaroo. At this point, we silently leave Loren, who is spending his hours mourning fos Mortimer, his mutilated muskrat.
