MR. CHEL YOUNG MRS. ANNA MAE HYATT Principal Superintendent Secretary World History PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE Congratulations to the graduating class of 1960 upon reaching another division point in your education. For some of you this graduation will terminate your formal education. Others will undoubtedly continue with a college or university program while yet others will enter a trade school or the armed forces. Regardless of where you may be, however, you can all continue to learn. Keep an open and inquiring mind being ready to accept new concepts if they promise progress. Yet hold fast to the things in your heritage that are good. You must achieve a balance between the tried and the new and con- tinue to progress. One can never stand still; you either progress or regress. Along with your open mind keep yourselves free from prejudice, bitter- ness, and petty feelings. These can only detract from a peace of mind so necessary to cope with the problems of modern living. Do not be afraid of work. The things that are worthwhile do not come either cheap or easy. Choose a goal and work toward it. Before that goal is reached find a new goal. Keep your sights ever onward and upward. Be willing to accept responsibility and give of your time and talents to worth- while community projects. All of you can become good community citizens. Along with congratulations allow me, on behalf of the Board of Education and Faculty, to wish you well on life's journey. In years to come when your achievements are many we will have even more pride in the Class of 1960! Chel Young Mt. Sterling Implement Co. Mt.
