 At this writing, we are in the middle of our basketball season. We are at the present time a little above the 500 mark in games won. If we can finish the season with a few more victories than defeats, I think we will have had a successful year in basketball. Only two boys on the squad are seniors. These boys are co-captains Wayne Goewey and Dick Hall. A large number of the squad are fresh- men and sophomores. The future in basket- ball could be bright if these boys keep im- proving. Looking back to the beginning of the year 1 suppose I should say something a- bout our football season. Our record was one victory and seven losses. We had a squad of few in number and consisting large- ly of underclassmen. I think, however, that injuries to a couple of key players. Gene Martin and Mark Unland, prevented us from having a better season. A few of the under- classmen showed great promise and the football team is bound to do better next year. It is too early to know yet what the future holds for us in baseball and track.
