Class History Upon entering Meredosia High School in 1950 there were twenty-three green Freshmen; namely, Sarah Barfield, Velma Battefeld, Jo Ann Beau- champ, Wayne Deppe, Doris Dunmire, George Easley, Jr., Delbert Fuelling, Lawrence Gobbel, Barbara Hall, Nancy Little, Fhyllis Muntman, Rosemary Newman, Loraine Nunn, Bonnie Ransom, Leon Ruyle, Linda Ruyle, Ann Schlichting, Donald Smith, Merlyn Smith, Linda Steinberg, Tommy Thurmon, Charles Tweedy and Janet Welch. For our Freshman Class trip, we went to Lake Springfield. At the beginning of the Sophomore year, Jo Ann Beauchamp, Linda Ruyle, Ronnie Smith and Tommy Thurmon moved away making a new total of twenty. Later, there was one new student, Ronnie Kehl. For our Sophomore Class trip, we went to St. Louis. Our Junior year we lost Velma Battefeld, Doris Dunmire, Lawrence Gobbel and Barbara Hall. Unit 11 was formed of Chambersburg and Mere- dosia and the following students from Chambersburg enrolled: Harlan Chute, Gary Ham, Robert Six and Beulah Stambaugh. Later, Susie Sparks moved here from Jacksonville. For our Junior Class trip we went to St. Louis. We held our Prom at the Dunlap Hotel, May 15 with Bowen’s Orchestra furnishing the music. The theme of the Prom was “Good-Bye and Good Luck”. We were then left with seventeen students to begin the Senior year. Bonnie Ransom, Janet Welch, Loraine Nunn and Ronnie Kehl dropped out. Yvonne Floyd graduated at the end of the first semester, so we were left with sixteen students in the graduating class. For our class trip, we plan to go to Rockaway Beach, Missouri and spend four days. Mr. Young is chaperoning the group.
