Senior WAYNE TEGEDER Sr. Class President Student Council War Whoop Staff Ass't Editor - The Chief ROBERT WERRIES War Whoop Staff Upon entering Meredosia High School in 1947 twenty-seven students answered the roll call as Green Freshmen. The twenty-seven included: Ruth Berghaus, Ted Dickman, Betty Gobel. Beverly Gregory, Theda Hobbs, Alene Hulett, Wanda McDannald, Edgar Ham, Dick Simon, Wayne Tegeder, Lila Nunn, Vera Seawalt, Pat Ruyle, Robert Werries, Mildred Workman, Jerry Miller,Glen Robinson, Dean Ruyle, Joseph Schlichting,Raymond Ransom, Daryle Nortrup. Reginald Hyatt,Wilbur Newman, Alice Walker, Margaret Unland. Clarence Talley, and D. G. Miller. In our Freshman year, we are sorry tosay,we lost fiveclass members. D. G. Miller, Edgar Ham, Glen Robinson, and Vera Seawalt moved away. Betty Gobel got in the line of fire of Mr. Cupid's arrow. In 1948 we returned to school in September and when count was taken we found that we had lost three more class mates. Margaret Unland and Alice Walker got married. Clarence Talley moved away. We found a new face--Mary Browning in our class that year too. We became up-and-coming Juniors in 1949, much to our surprise! We felt very proud to be known as the upper classmen . During this year we lost three students. Wilbur Newman and Raymond Ransom got tired of the old intellectual institute and Lila Nunn dropped out to be married. This year we were kept on our toes with the annual banquet and dance along with our studies. The theme for our banquet and dance was Starlight . We received our class rings shortly after Christmas and were well satisfied with our choice. Those answering to the roster in 1950-'51 are: Ruth Berghaus. Mary Browning, Ted Dickman, Beverly Gregory, Theda Hobbs, Alene Hulett, Reginald Hyatt, Wanda McDannald, Daryle Nortrup, Pat Ruyle, Joseph Schlichting, Dick Simon. Wayne Tegeder, and Robert Werries. Our class play this year was Whoa, Auntie with every one of the members of the class participating. At the time of printing we have not decided on a class trip but have talked about various places to go. At the end of the school year of '51 we shall all regret that it is our last year of school in M. H.S.and will never forget the good times we have had in spite of our trying times of studies.

— 1 1— denior CLm Witt We the class of 1951, of Meredosia Community High School, of the County of Morgan, and State of Illinois, being of sound mind and body after four strenuous years, do hereby make, publish, and declare this as our last and best will and testament; hereby revoking all former wills, bequests, and devices of whatever nature or form heretofore made by us. We, the Seniors, will to the faculty one case of HADACOL for the head- aches we've caused them in the last four years. To the Juniors we will our manners and dignity that we have shown around M. H. S. the past few months. To the Sophomores we leave our ability to skip classes and still graduate. We hope! To the Freshmen we will the bubble gum left under our seats in study hall and also the ability to have a good aim with paper wads. I, Robert Werries, will my good grades to anyone who needs them. I, Mary Browning, will my chunkiness to Velma Battefield. I, Dick Simon, leave before the teachers change their minds. I, Patricia Ruyle, will my red hair and freckles to Harlan Fueling. I, Ruth Berghaus, leave my bashfulness to Bonnie Ransom. I, Wayne Tegeder, will my ability to make New Year’s dates to Wayne Dickman. I, Ted Dickman, leave my ability to flirt to Billy Hulett. I, Theda Hobbs, will to Earline Thurmon the right to skip classes, throw paper wads, and argue with the teachers--unless she wants to graduate. I, Alene Hulett, will my ability as a snake charmer to Joanne Beuchamp. I, Wanda McDannald, leave the Big Elm Tree to any gal who likes it. Especially to Beulah Floyd. I, Beverly Gregory, leave my ability as a good girl to Joyce Wortman. I, Bud Hyatt, will my ability to pick locks and my perfect attendance to Layton Yeakel. I, Daryle Nortrup, will my basketball ability to Johnnie Miller.
