DECISION DAY: W ty will it lu-. The sixth of September found us smiling and treii excitement, we scribbled on cards and stumbled up stair; able first days! Smiles, warm welcomes, name tags, wait! and more rules ! a building called Johnson Hall. Weak with itcases, boxes, and chests. Oh, those unforget- orientation classes, questions, rules, mistakes, The first week of classes was attempted by the trial and error method. And were we ever glad when that eekend arrived! Our first fraternity rush — better known as mass confusion! Sigma what? What ' s his name? Although tluTf wMN : both Corn Hu l in ' .iiid single-dating, as will .i gone, and exams wire s 1 adjustiim ' to lid at first, we found enough time to take second place in ' )i;i Sish is i-i;iil(l imtdi ' us! Thanksgiving brought with it the joy of tliiisi nine wirks ' f;riiil(s. Before we knew it Christmas had come and cc. Xev -r liad thr l;alls lieen so quiet! Second semester gave us a brand new start with a little more experience and know-how this time. Those famous freshman research papers along with planning for summer vacation always kept us busy. The days were lengthening and our first year at Meredith was drawing to a close — a time never to be forgotten: fraternity parties, double-dating, lights out, midnight broom rides through Stringfield and Vann, footsteps of hall proc- tors, English themes, all-night gab sessions — Freshman life.
