Two of lier interests are her work in the First Baptist Church and The Cedar Chest, her cabin on the outskirts of Raleigh, where she entertains. Faculty k E. F. CANADAY, professor of mathematics, was born on a farm in Missouri. He has earned his A.B., A.M., and Ph.D. degrees; and came to Meredith in 1920. Dr. Canaday lias two daughters and six grand- children. He is a member of the First Baptist Church and renders his serv- ices to the choir. P. A. CLINE, instructor in foreign languages, holds his A.B. and B.D. degrees. He served in the army from 191J-t5 during which time he was in Germany, France, and . ustrin. He is now organist at Hayes-Barton Methodist Church. BERNARD COCHRAN, assistant professor of religion, is serving his third year at Meredith. He has earned his A.B., B.D., Th.M.. and Ph.D. de- grees, the latter of which he received last vear from Duki- t ' nivcrsit.N . HARRY COOPER, professor of music, holds his A.B., Mus.B., and Mus.D. degrees and is a Fellow of the American Guild of Organists. After serving as dean of music in two other Baptist colleges, he came to Meredith and is now in his twenty-fifth year. Dr. Cooper is photographer for the annual. ROGER CROOK, professor of re- ligion, holds his A.B., Th.M., and Th.D. degrees. He is the father of six sons. Dr. Crook serves as pastor of Mount Olivet Baptist Church. He has written three books, Sunday school lesson materials, and articles in a variety of periodicals. Family recrea- tion is one of his main interests. BEATRICE DON LEY, associate professor of music, after receiving a IS.M. dcjrrce in both public school Tniisir .iiid voice, did graduate study at .huUiard School of Music. She sang in various areas for eight years in New York City. She is now director of the Hayes-Barton Methodist Church choir. Miss Frazier is active in the National Federation of Busi- ness and Professional Women ' s Clubs. Her special interest is travel. .L MES EADS, assistant professor of biology, has earned his A.B. and M.S. degrees, and is working toward his Ph.D. He is interested in all fields of science, medicine and natural his- tory. The welfare of Meredith stu- dents is another of his interests. ROBERT FRACKER, instructor in education, received his B.S. degree from East Tennessee State and his M.. . from Appalachian State Teach- ers College. He attended the Univer- sity of Illinois and is now studying at Duke University. Mr. Fracker is interested in chess, folk songs, and philosophy. She is wife of Phillip tiarris, whom she met when he en- rolled as a special violin student at Meredith, and mother of three chil- dren. Mrs. Garris ' interests are her family and music.
