Senior I am the Class of 1961. I came to Meredith four years ago from the noisy cities, from the bustling towns, and from the quiet countrysides. Homesick, afraid of new faces, awed by mountains of assignments, word studies, and term papers, cling- ing to my high school yearbook and the past. I was becoming an important part of Meredith. I dressed in silly clothes and tried my hand at hog calling. I even produced a Stunt called The Pearl. It didn ' t win a prize — but I was learning. Then suddenly I was a Sophomore — and, I suppose, wise and foolish. No longer afraid, but rather self-confident, I watched the Class of 1962 approach much as I had just a year before. That year I chose my major and began making decisions for my future — a future that included a sad farewell to my Big Sister amid daisies, tears, and songs. Junior year I launched into dramatics with more fervor. The Day the Fairies Smiled didn ' t win a cup, but it gave me a new spirit of love and co-operation. I was growing; I was learning; and I had a wonderful Little Sister who looked to me for guidance. And now with required courses taken, with hours in lab over, with term papers completed, I am ready to leave college behind. No, never behind, for more than I have become a part of Meredith, Meredith has become a part of me. I am the Class of 1961 and I am ready for Tomorrow. J4Utory.
