Senior Class History Full of joy and confidence, vc seniors entered Mercditli in the fall. We knew tiic ro))es. This was our last year — forever! This was tlic beginning of tile end. We looked at the new freshmen, so new — with their new clothes, new ])ernianents, and new hooks. Vet, we saw our faces, only three years ago, niirrin-cd in their unknowing ones. We looked at the so|jhoniores with tlieir experienced walk and talk and know-how. We saw ourselves, only two years ago, well-established in our college life. Then we looked at the juniors with their still nun-e experienced and more practiced ways. ' e s;i ourselves, only one year ago, well-versed r. S. Kliot and mod ern lazz. And last, we looked at ourselves. The year had already begun to slip away, as yeais do, and we cried a little on the inside. We decided to get the most out of our last year. We began to see Meredith through new eyes. We looked at the faculty, the same faculty we had always known here, and saw dedicated persons tryin g to mold students into good peo|)le for our worlfl. AVe looked thi-ough our new eyes and saw our Student (Tovernment w H-king for us, not against us as we had sometimes thought. We looked at the brick iiuildings and campus with love, and felt very different from the ways we had felt many times after returning from a good week end or holiday. AVe looked at the student body and saw no class or dormitmy rivalry — we saw nothing but friends. We decided that we liked our new eyes that Meredith had given us. We decided to keep tliese eyes for they would help us to see the new world that had been o])ened to us — opened to us only because we had been a jjart of Meredith.
