The purpose of this organization is to prepare the nursing student for membership in the parent organizations, the ANA and NLN. Activities such as district meetings and the State Convention have drawn more students into active participation in our pre-professional or- ganization. The high-light of the year was the National Convention in San Francisco in May of 1966, at which Chris Lampert represented Mercy and District Three. The 1966-1967 District Executive Board included four Mercy students: Chris Lampert, President, Kathy Brunelle, Re- cording Secretaryg Natalie Bragassa, Nominations Chairman, and Kay Zangari, Corresponding Secretary. CTT' chris Lampert Kathy Brunelle Each year the Student Nurses' Association of North Carolina spon- sors the Student Nurse of the Year Contest. Each school selects a can- didate on the basis of scholarship, nursing ability, and participation in extra-curricular activities, to represent them in the District Contest. Later, one student is chosen from each District to participate in the State Contest. The 1966 representative from Mercy was Chris Lampert. ' ff' , Y' - :Cf .. YSLQQ7' -if .fi 'Y ' fp '55 . -age!
