faculty Last summer, faculty members reached a consid- erable distance into outer space in pursuit of added training and knowledge. Two Sisters took courses in the humanities and the liturgy at Notre Dame University in Indiana and another Sister used a T7 SCIENCE FAIR IS IN THE VUIND Physics and biology teachers, Sister Mary Marguerite and Sister Mary Lois, inspect an electric motor constructed by a physics student, while Mrs. Dolores Hyde, physiology instructt and Sister Mary Noel, Chemistry department, revie ' g rules fm N58 Suence Frm' THE LATEST WORD Sister Mary Athanasius, social science alll' teacher, and Sister Mary Loyola, librarian, checking monthly issues of Current Biography for correlative material in English and government classes, pause to talk shop with Miss Josephine Moran, English and history instructor. graduate scholarship from the National Science Foundation to do advanced work in chemistry at St. Louis University. On the western scene three faculty members continued work in music, library, science, and philosophy at Los Angeles campuses, two others furthered studies for graduate degrees in Latin at Dominican, and several attended the University of San Francisco summer session. A lay teacher toured the British Isles, and in late August two Sisters attended the National Liturgical XVeek meetings sponsored by the Benedictines at St. john's Abbey, Minnesota.

During the year a mighty invisible hand works hundreds of hours to assist administration and faculty with office duties . . . answering telephones, typing letters, recording information on student transcripts, placing book orders, and fulfilling driving chores.
