Time Time is the dying sun in the late afternoon, that melts through our windows and spills upon the floor. And we stare into the landscape of our many-lined hands, wondering of lost moments, tracing the words unspoken. For somewhere between our drifting sighs time has stopped and caught us, posed, enclosed in a still-life prism in the light of a dying sun Snow kissed mountains rising high, Sunny days and starry skies. Autumn leaves dancing in the air, The joy that comes when someone cares. And as the sweet smell of the morning rain, Understanding after pain. Ocean spray on cold sand, Love and brotherhood throughout the land. Frost filled morns, Squirms and whimpers of the new born. Summer breezes soft and cool, Tear drops falling as crystal jewels. Sunrises bringing dawn and light. Thank you God for my sight. Rivers wide, cascading falls, silver streams. And a mind that captures all our dreams. Orange bursting sunsets, A friend’s radiant smile that you can’t forget. Life holds so many lovely things. Oh how do I thank you God for all the treasures that life brings! Kathleen Weir 7
