Rose Byrne Ann McNally President Vice-president Macy Jfiqfz Scfzaaf Sfacfenl Gcufmcdf The Student Council has worked hard this year to accomplish its purpose through the executive, consultative, and general councils which make up this organization. Acting as an intermediary between the facul- ty and students, it has made Mercy a better place to study, pray, and recreate. As a result of the constant endeavors of its members, order prevails in the halls, activities receive more participation, and every student is fully represented in all affairs. The executive council com- prises the four major officers of the organization, the consultative coun- cil consists of these four plus the officers of all other prominent school organizationsg the general council brings together the above mentioned along with homeroom representatives. On February 13, 1957, God called our beloved Sister Mary Aquinata. Always self-sacrificing in the performance of duty, Sister gave of her- self untiringly, and we will remember with deep appreciation her kind- ness and concern for those of us who were privileged to be under her care. All who knew Sister loved her for her faimess, her outspoken sincerity, and her loyalty. Her keen wit and wonderful sense of humor gave us the feeling that Sister loved life and enjoyed its fun, especially the homey little ex- periences she shared with us in our everday life. A true religious, Sister Mary Aquinata was indeed an inspiration to us. Her daily Religion Class, with its concrete examples and unique phraseology, was a source of unlimited information and enjoyment. As the years go on, we know that Sister's teaching and example will be a reservoir of strength for us. I , - n. :EFEH5 - We Q . Teresa Dulohery Died - August of 1954 Dear Terry, It hardly seems possible that three years have elapsed since we have enjoyed the warmth of your smile, the gayety of your laugh- ter, the sincerity of your friendship, and the simplicity with which you lived. You had been destined to reach your heavenly goal at an early age and have obtained everlasting happiness. Even though you are not present physically on that memorable day of our gradua- tion we know you are with us spiritually because you too are a gradu- ate of the senior class of 'Nineteen hundred and fifty seven'.
