E One Humlrml Tf1fl'lj'-SUIT!! MISS MERCIAN Dorothy Stasiuk Raise the flags! Shout it from the roof-tops. Let people know that the students of Mercy have done it again. But tell them of one freshman in particular, Dorothy Stasiuk. She heard the cries and pleas, coming from l the pages, yet to be, of our yearbook and took them to heart. From friend to friend she traveled, gathering patrons everywhere. .Mid in the end she was rewarded with the highest honor the Mercian staff could give - the distinctive title, Miss Mercian. Dorothy came to us from St. Patrick grammar school, where she was an active member in the parish Sodality. She is a talented accordionist and plays her instrument with the zest and determination of a true artist. Although this is Dorothy's first year at Mercy, she is active in many school organizations, but the one that really counts is the Sewing club. When asked how she liked Mercy, Dorothy said, in a very eager tone, that her subjects were interesting, and her teachers were understanding, but most of all she liked the spirit of friend- liness and loyalty among the girls. .Xll these and many other attributes are what made Dorothy Stasiuk the top-ranking patron saleswoman of Mercy-MISS MERCIAN. One Hundred Thirty-eight Tho Quven smiles upon her court. Miss illcrcian bestows a gracious smile on the l'lllll1Gl'S-llll in the Patron Drive. Her courtf Nita Oillornlell.
