But you must go out this june from our halls of learning, from cor- ridors that breathe your youth, your loves, your ambitions, your very lives. You must accept the bits of paper that are your diplomas and go into a greater arena. Dear girls, you take with you into a future misted by inexperience the memory of many les- sons distinctly Christian and distinctly Catholic. . . lessons given to you to carry you safely from girl- hood to loveliest womanhood. We, your teachers, have hoped for you: we have stretched forth care- ful fingers to guide you and you will not forget. You end your high school days with a Catholic training you must not forget. We trust that your diary of the future will speak of the same happiness expressed in that of your high school days. We trust that, however happy, however filled with worldly pleasures, it will reflect the Catholic training impressed upon you during your last four years. We trust it will reflect the pure heart of the convent-bred girl. And lastly, we hope that your diary stories will include tales of many pleasant visits to your Mercy.
