Ivy buIldIngs are things that are connected wIth knowledge and wIsdom old Ideas that represent the solid, estab llshed views of a generation ago They create an aura of strength and permanence In the llves of those centered around them Yet although thIs famlllarlty seems securIty In Itself, the appearances of tranqulllty can be decelvlng A season of new lhlhklng has come to transplant the lvy and chase away the pigeons We have come to a some what agonizing posItIon of no longer being content with sIttIng on the fence, but Instead, learnlng to get off our backsldes and go one way or the other regardless of who goes with us And the only Important ISSUES now are not gust war and race and what s to become of us The process and necessity of change come not just to the outer world but delve down deep and strike sounds of the inner turmoil of iust struggling to be alive . . . What shall I do? . . . Where is my God? . . . What's to become of me? Yet there is a purpose . . . a reason somewhere, even if it only manages to come out in the vague utterances of words like peace, love and prosperity. Perhaps its iust hope, the one staunch weed that refuses to die. A hope for a productive tomorrow - one that comes only by a slow change . . . not so much in laws, but in the mind of the indi- vidual.
