Arrival In the Dorm Freshmen and transfers arrived at Mercer to be greeted by big sisters and big brothers, upper- classmen who returned to school early to help the new Mt-rtcrians learn their way around campus, to explain dormitory rules, and make the first few days easier in every way There were faculty mem- bers who introduced them to the history, ideals, and purposes of the University—parties and recep- tions which introduced them to each other By registration day, the nesv students were already a part of Mercer. RECREATION All work and no play nukes Toby a dull hear. The administration knows this well and has pro vided many recreational facilities for the students use. The pmp pon tables, tennis courts and ball fields are nearly always in use. Besides athletics, there are concerts, plays, and other cultural activities which are open to all Mer- cer students.
