Hie remodeling of the building proper and the addition of new app.tr.uu' rendered the structure one of the most modern biology- buildings in this part of the country. ,■1 Kjg —Hardman Library—Was first built in I VO? through the gift of Andrew Carnegie of twenty-five thousand dollars. In I9L6, it was re- modeled and dedicated by Dr. L G. Hardman »n honor of Elizabeth Susan Hardman. I he library is now equipped with steel book stacks, reading and reference rooms, and a vault for the storage of rare documents and pamphlets. fli'fou —lb nj ti I D I IaLI.—Has served the Uuiversity as a dormitory, timing lull and gymnasium. It now serves as the Student Activities Center and is com- monly known as the “Co-op. ' I he post office, book store, Veterans' Guidance Center, and R. O. T- C. unit are aUo housed m this building. Iff Abavt — Tin Niw Building — Now completed provides more classroom space to JcComosl.ilc the increasinjt number of students here at Mercer.
