FOREWORD This has been a very significant [ ear in the history of Mercer University possibly the great- ext of any of the past. This year has seen the worst of the old order give wag to the best of the new , . . has seen the growth of a student body to twelve hundred . . , has seen the return of veterans who have brought with them new ideate and new aims . . . has seen the addition of many new faculty members . . . and has seen the improvement of old buildings and the erec- tion of new ones.
