We feel a peculiar pride in dedicating this book to the Navy for all it has contributed to our life in the past two years. Transformations have come about through constructive changes brought by the Navy along with many men who have been outstanding students and leaders. The V-12's here at Mercer personify the characteristics of discipline, honor, leadership, and valor attributable to naval tradition. We feel that this dedication is a mere gesture of our deep appreciation to, and our respect for the U. Those cigars that Virginia West and Betty Cribb did away with. Ss Richardson's ability when it came to pushing a coke bottle cap down the chapel aisle. When a certain gal with whitened face and otherwise horrific” countenance scared two floors of MEP half to death tn the middle of the night. Rigby's Ring out, wild bells” (complete with dead-pan expression) in one of the dramatic dub's presentations. The glass man, Mr. Ellis, ping-pinging against himself. Bill Smith's letting Beverly Kinney catch him on Sadie Hawkins Day . . . Porter Hall’s more than adequate rigging of mistletoe before the holidays, Burkhaher’s score when it came to getting pinned . . . The time MEP was completely stupehed because no one could take her Saturday night dunking—no hot water. [hat all of the girls decided to eat at school on Founders' Day . . . Those mad stampedes when the thundering herd emptied out oi every con- ceivable crevice in the physics lecture room and ainsed for the co-op. The fatal firecracker that caused for the barracks a fate worse than death.” The trek ro Robins l-ield made by the Trial by Jury” cast. The white lion who escaped and wandered over to MEP one morning. The almost universal camping-out in the library before term papers were due. The thrill” with which the girls watched those manly bodies go hurdling past on their way through the obstacle course. That woman-less wedding at the A D Pi carnival, and the muscle-bound bride himself. The drainage pipe that some mastermind finally chose as the solution for the ever- recurring puddle in front of MEP. That Charles Hertwig had a perfect formula for not letting himself get bored in class or chapel. He simply went to sleep to begin with. And, so you see, Mr. Editor, the whole year will always occupy a special nook in our memories. That's for sure! 17 Mariam Miron.- SUCCESSFUL ANNUALS Ifeipiirr the services iif experienreri and export craftsmen, trained in every ilelail «F the processes of creating •planning layout anil design ■ typesetting «printing lithographing ami liimlin ,..
