Mercer is essentially A university for men, but woman long ago proclaimed that man cannot live to himself alone ’ Man comes to college, purposing to leave light matters behind him end to burn the pro- verbial midnight oil over endeavors of serious concern, But man's ambitions are want to be thwarted. And the theme that runs through this book essays to portray the vicis- situdes of the poor college man as woman trifles v?ith the serious business of h« college career.
