The club offers a variety of social activities. On occasion, speakers as- sociated with special areas of psy- chology discuss with students cur- rent research and developments in the field. --wr The Adult Life Support Organi- zation is an extracurricular pro- gram for Mercer students who are twenty-five years of age or older. The purpose of ALSO is to provide the non-traditional student fa stu- dent returning to college after an absence of five or more yearsl with advisement and information related to the specific needs of non-tradi- tional students. ALSO offers monthly luncheon meetings and pe- riodic family gatherings where stu- dents may associate with friends who have similar interests and con- cerns. ALSO membership is open to all interested non-traditional stu- dents.

Under the leadership of Dan Meadors, Assistant Dean of Stu- dents, the International Student As- sociation strives to bring together all Mercer students for the apprecia- tion of various cultures and the ex- change of ideas. Each week, in an effort to promote world citizenship, the ISA holds a Fellowship Coffee, during which programs on different countries may be presented and po- litical issues discussed. In the fall of 1982, the ISA sponsored an Inter- national Festival, at which students from fifteen countries shared their culture through native foods, cos- tumes, dances, and artifacts. Women in Communications, Inc. is a professional organization pro- viding support and assistance to women entering the field of commu- nications. WICI, the largest profes- sional organization for women in the US, maintains 190 professional and student chapters in the state of Georgia alone. The Mercer chapter participates in the WICI Day-On- the-Job program, which provides students with the opportunity of ob- serving women in positions of pro- fessional responsibility on a daily basis.
