Vice-president Sam LeClercq, treasurer Mike Hobbs, secretary .loan Cannon and president Dave Biehn discuss plans for sophomore activities. The class of '69, one of the largest in Mercer Island's history, went through its sophomore year showing great anticipation and enthusiasm for the future. Adviser Mr. Hall, president Dave Biehn, vice-president Sam LeClercq, secretary ,loan Cannon, and treasurer Mike Hobbs guided their class throughout the year. Sophomores entered full force into the Homecoming competition spirit. The mascot, It's Victory For Mercer Island fI.V.F.M.I'sj, was a volcano carried by three Islanders in native garb: Sam LeClercq, Dave Porter and Jim Stevenson. The traditional Soph Hop was presented in late November. The theme, uWhat's Up, Down Underf, was carried out cleverly by transforming the mushroom into a water wonderland.
