The ASB sponsored the 1966 Homecoming dance, uSay- onaraf' A Japanese theme was carried out in the decora- tions. Colorful umbrellas, fans, scrolls, and lanterns creat- ed the oriental atmosphere. To enter the dance, couples crossed a bridge over a small pond where white gardenias floated to represent lilies. A large Buddha enhanced the oriental theme. Cherry blossom trees were placed on the stage, balcony, and floor at the dance adding light pink color to the theme. The highlight of the dance was the crowning of the homecoming queen, Janet Keating, and the presentation of her court. She was crowned by Football captain, Steve Maloof, and presented with long-stemmed, red roses by Greg Taylor, ASB president.
